Once Upon a Time: Miami Through The Lens of Street Fashion

What child hasn’t fallen in love with a fairytale story? Even as adults we all hope for that happy ending. I know, I do. For this Miami: Through the Lens of Street Fashion we trekked out to a real castle called Coral Castle deep in Miami’s Homestead area. Built 60 years ago, this myseterious home was constructed out of hand-made tools and coral by Ed Leedskalnin for the woman he loved. He labored from 1923 to 1951 just to make it for her. Sounds utterly romantic right? Well, I won’t divulge the details, so you can visit this crown jewel and find out for yourself. In the meantime, enjoy our “Once Upon a Time” shoot which taps into the beloved Grimm Brother’s stories of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. Our modern day maiden in waiting is no damsel in distress though. While her red feminine floor skimming gown symolizes love, she is fearless in a sweater emblazoned with skulls and exudes a warrior spirit with her studded purse and shoes. The finishing touch is a polka dot headband which pays homage to America’ symbol of feminism and women’s economic power: Rosie the Riveter. Enjoy.
